Divorce, Family Law and Estate Litigation

Legal disputes involving families are often highly upsetting and involve significant financial effects.  Many aspects of divorce, child custody and child support are governed by statute in Massachusetts but can be subject to exceptions.  Each person's situation is also unique.  Attorney O'Leary is experienced in divorce, paternity, and estate litigation and represents her clients diligently.  She also has experience in situations involving parties with mental health or substance abuse issues.  You owe it to yourself to get knowledgeable legal advice as early in a family dispute as possible.

Business Disputes

Business disputes take many forms and can involve substantial amounts of money.  Breaches of contract, breaches of warranties, claims of unfair competition and alleged theft of trade secrets are but a few of the types of cases that Attorney O'Leary had handled for clients.  Cases along these lines typically go to either Superior or Federal Court and having an experienced, well-respected lawyer advising you is important.

Kathryn A. O'Leary, Esq.

Kathryn concentrates her practice in employment law and litigation; probate litigation including divorces and matters involving children; and commercial litigation.

She has tried cases in the federal and state courts, before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, before state licensing boards, and before arbitration panels.  She practiced for many years at Gould & Ettenberg, PC.

Kathryn served on the Massachusetts Clients Security Board from 2004-2008.  In Massachusetts a portion of the annual fees paid by each member of the bar is allocated to a Fund which is used to reimburse defalcations by Massachusetts attorneys.  The Clients' Security Board consists of seven members of the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to serve as public trustees of the Clients' Security Fund. Kathryn has served on the boards of several non-profit corporations and a town commission.

Kathryn is an avid recreational athlete.  She played women's ice hockey in college and beyond, competitive women's basketball, and enjoys cycling and downhill skiing.
